This three-hour live online presentation/workshop introduces Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, covering essential technologies such as speech recognition software, terminology managers, electronic
dictionaries, indexers, concordance programs, text aligners, and translation memories (TM).
The session will also explore advanced AI tools like machine translation systems and automated quality assurance
tools, as well as popular CAT programs like Wordfast, RWS Trados, OmegaT, Déjà Vu, and Multiterm.
Participants will gain foundational knowledge of translation environment tools to make informed
decisions about selecting cost-effective tools that enhance translation efficiency and quality. The
workshop includes a comprehensive demonstration of CAT software tailored for freelance translators.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basics of translation environment tools.
- Leverage technology to improve translation speed and accuracy.
- Utilize and develop translation memories and glossaries.
- Perform document alignment using a CAT tool and ChatGPT and create translation memories
from existing translations. - Evaluate the profitability of integrating CAT software into their workflow.
- Select the CAT software best suited to their needs
